Tutoring during the Coronavirus School Closures

As I have struggled to adjust to a “new normal” with my three children ages 4-9 all home from school, I know that every family is also navigating this uncertain time for your families. My social media feed is filled with parents showing pictures of their homeschool schedule, offers for free educational websites, and messages of hope and unity. Mr. Rogers said, “Look for the Helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” This couldn’t ring more true than now. Restaurants offering to feed the hungry, neighbors offering to shop for the elderly, and parents reaching out to one another with homeschooling tips.

At LS Tutors, we are committed to helping as many students as we can by offering online tutoring sessions during this time. Our tutors are familiar with a variety of online platforms and can successfully connect with students of all ages for online educational sessions. If we can support learning through online connections with your child, please contact us today.

If you are looking for some helpful websites offering free experiences/lessons/practice, I invite you to check out this document showing a calendar of livestream activities and an enrichment resource document.

For those of you on Facebook, there is a group called “Elementary School Parents- at home social distancing activity ideas”, I would encourage you to join as helpful links are constantly posted by parents.

Contact us by emailing lori@lstutors.com or visiting www.lstutors.com/contact to complete an intake form.

During this stressful and uncertain time, remember to play, laugh and enjoy fresh air together as a family. Students will be okay and one of the greatest lessons students of all ages can learn right now is the importance of family, downtime, and simplicity.
