With a larger company you can expect to pay over $100 for assessment fees, around $50 for enrollment and usually have to buy a block of sessions up front costing anywhere from $400-$800!
What are the qualifications of the tutors?
LS Tutors hires those with current state teaching certifications or qualified graduate students at local universities. You have the guarantee that your tutor has deep experience in the specified subject area and is knowledgeable about the curriculum and strategies being used in the school system. Our certified teachers typically work with elementary and middle school students. And our graduate students are often matched with high schoolers looking for a mentor to help with study skills, organization, research, writing and math review.
Other tutoring companies employ college students and working adults who took courses in subject areas being tutored. However, this does not always indicate they have an understanding of how children learn and best teaching practices.
Where do tutoring sessions take place?
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: We come to you, tutoring in your home or at a public library (if requested). Our tutors are vaccinated and will abide by CDC guidelines in regards to COVID-19. Our tutors are also experts in using online platforms like Zoom for virtual sessions.

LS Tutors provides clients (students and parents) with unlimited access over phone and email. In addition, we communicate with classroom teachers to make sure our sessions align with classroom objectives. We use an online platform where tutors add session notes for parents after each session.
Other companies? They use their own unique programs, hoping that the students will be able to implement their strategies in the classroom.
